The Practice.

Today, many body-inspired methods are emerging, and 5Rhythms® is the root of it all.

Created in the 1970s by Gabrielle Roth, this practice was born long before words like somatic, nervous system regulation or embodiment became fashionable.

5Rhythms® has influenced and preceded many contemporary somatic practices, not as theory, but as direct experience. Movement becomes both medicine and metaphor: a universal language that transcends cultures, ages, and bodies, designed to liberate the body, open the heart, and quiet the mind.

A clear and profound map for self-discovery, healing and transformation through five energetic states: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.

Here, movement is not explained: it is lived.

There is no choreography or acting.

There's no need to "do it right".

The body remembers what the mind tries to understand.

The Class.

This is a 2-hour class in which we will explore a complete 5Rhythms® Wave , the movement map created by Gabrielle Roth. Guided by music and some suggestions from Tim Barnes, we will journey through the five rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. Each rhythm invites us to explore a different quality of movement, energy, and presence.

You don't need any prior experience or dance skills. There are no steps to learn or choreographies to follow.

The practice is mainly in motion and each person participates according to their own abilities.

The Guide.

Tim Barnes is a dancer, DJ, self-taught motorcycle mechanic, and horseback riding adventurer with more questions than answers. He uses the body as the palette for his artistic expression and is committed to living what he teaches.

Coming from a simple background, with nothing particularly extraordinary to tell, the practice of 5Rhythms shook his world in 2012 and opened up the possibility of tuning his ear to the pulse of a deeper mystery.

He came to the practice after years of traveling, years of uprooting himself, years of trying to find himself. The rhythms offered him a place of stability and excitement at the same time. A structure within which to be deconstructed.

She believes that our bodies are bodies of wisdom and that, when we learn to use them as such, we can transform and transcend.

The Price.

• Normal Prepaid : ₡12,000

• Full price on the day of the event: ₡15,000 via sinpe or cash.

ORGANIZER'S NOTE: Bringing in teachers from abroad presents financial challenges, but the priority is to keep classes as affordable as possible. If money is the only obstacle, please write to me and we can discuss it.
